The environment I play Blackjack in is a very tough one. The tables are all 6 deck and the dealers have a continuous shuffling deck. Obviously, no chance of card counting and I can’t think of another way to strength the casino’s position. They added paying Blackjack at 6:5 to make things sweeter for the casino. It is not like in Las Vegas where there are numerous types of Blackjack games, some use 2 deck game, some still manually deal, and I have spoken to players that wouldn’t even go into a casino and play at tables where I play. I would love to play in Casino’s that did not use the continuous shufflers and more liberal rules however that is all that is available to me here.
I also “feel” like in these conditions that positive winning streaks happen less often and it takes longer to grind out a winning session. I don’t have any statistical information to back me up other than my experience. I witness many players becoming frustrated because they are not having or very few sustained winning streaks. Some handle it by increasing their bets, (chasing their money), playing more than one hand, (feeling that one of them will produce a winning streak), having a couple of drinks or playing very, shall I say, animated.
So, what does this mean? To me is this means that these players do not have a proven gameplan when they enter a casino. They are getting fazed by the situation and it is working on their emotions. I want to tell them that when conditions are rough the only way to find success is in the strict adherence to my methodology. Since these are the toughest rules I could ever imagine, the fact that I am still winning at it is a testimonial to how solid my methodology or gameplan really is. You must be patient and not let your emotions get to you. It is like struggling in quicksand, the more you struggle the faster you sink.
So, I will continue to use my methodology and hope others will pick it up. Witnessing others that get clearly frustrated is not something I enjoy. In my book I reference the “heroes” that play to impress others and when things go south they get further out of control and lose a lot more than their bankroll would support. Certainly not for me.
